My differentiators
I make stuff people use: Last winter break, I built the social media platform hottake.gg for posting anonymous controversial opinions. This gained over 15,000 views, 5,000 users, and 1,000+ posts/comments. The reason why I love computer science is because it is a tool that can be used to solve people's problems and improve their lives; that is why I love build production applications like hottake.gg, and why I especially loved this take home assignment.
AVEVA: I interned last summer at AVEVA, the largest industrial automation company, as a SDE Intern. There, I worked on migrating their legacy DB to SQLite, implementing 0% failure rate concurrency support, and improving database write speeds to over 10,000 rows per second, and regex filtering speeds by 27% through custom optimization.
Firstly: I interned at Firstly last winter, a high growth edutech startup. There, I developed a web mentorship platform for 2 groups of new users, accommodating 500+ events on the platform, using frameworks such as React, Tailwind, Express, while practicing responsive, mobile first web design. I also successfully migrated 300+ tables from AirTable to PostgreSQL, ensuring a seamless database transition.
